So, I'm 27 and I do this too (and have for most of my life). I find it to be good stress relief. But, I'm also a chick, OP doesn't have a gender indicated, but I'm assuming a guy? OP's situation reminds me of how (at least some) day cares have extra restrictive rules for male employees. OP should have stood up for himself though.
