Today, I found out I'm being sued by the man whose life I practically saved a month ago. He says the way I pulled him out of the car he was trapped in has left him with permanent back problems. FML

YDI for thinking anyone in this world is going to grant you any form of gratitude. Nah, not really. He's a dick, but seriously, a lot of people are, the one thing you should have mentioned is if it's your job to save people, i.e. a fireman, or whatever, or if you just did it out of the good of your heart. Either or, I commend you and hope you can get out of this jam without having to pay some jackass money he doesn't deserve.
