Today, I decided to cover a coworker's closing shift because she felt sick. My boss even gave me a $10 gift card for doing it. I felt good about it, until I walked outside and found that my car had been stolen. FML

Cars are worth money.
People like having money.
Some people don't like working at a job to make money.
You can take someone's car and get money for it.

Car theft is a logical enterprise. Of course, it is totally unacceptable in a civilized society which is why it is a crime and people caught doing it go to jail. I hope that straightens out things for you.

The car park should have CCTV in it. If it doesn't, then it can easily be retrieved by the police looking up the reg plate etc. Statistics state that 82% of all stolen cars are returned at some point.

My mother once had her car stolen in Boston when she lived there and it was found later that day about half a mile away. The cops said the crook probably chickened out and just ran for it after realizing what they had done. My dad had his car broken in to with the stereo system stolen as well as some of cassette collection. His favorite ones were still there...he felt insulted.
