Today, I was working at the hospital receptionist desk. A visitor came in, but only knew the patient’s nickname “Peaches” When I explained to her we don’t address patients by nicknames, she demanded to see my supervisor. She ended up spitting in her face and had to be escorted out by security. FML

I'd definitely wouldn't let a person in who doesn't know your real name. Especially when you're in hospital, I expect any visitors to be people who are close enough to know my real name not my nickname. This could have easily been a stalker, or another opportunistic criminal looking for vulnerable patient. Well done! And sorry that you work involves dealing with attitudes and entitlements instead of concentrating on patients.
