You asked for it. Sometimes the answer you may/hope to be expecting isnt always what you think it is.

Sometimes I also ask my close friends and family some of the things they don't like about me. If many of them say the same thing, I'm willing to change it a little bit. I do this because I want to improve my own character and not because I want to please people. I know you can't please everyone on Earth OP but you'd be amazed about what things people tell you. Sometimes it's hogwash and sometimes it's things that are bad about you but you never noticed it yourself. IMO you can use what your mom said as a guideline for personal development and improvement.
