Today, I worked a carwash as a fundraiser. Being nice, I figured I'd bring my car, get it washed, and donate some money. When it was my car's turn to be washed, everyone was conveniently busy washing other cars. My car was in front and needed to be washed and moved. I paid $10 to wash my own car. FML

Today, at work, I helped out an employee who was having trouble. I even bought her a bottle of water. After the production manager decided to fire her on the spot, she went out in the parking lot and broke into several cars, including mine. FML

Today, out of the goodness of my heart, I went to work to help out a co-worker even though my last day was last week. I parked in a garage a block away for 2 hours. I paid $20 to park, didn't get paid, am spending $400 to get my back window replaced, and I have to buy a new iPod. FML

Today, I fixed my car starter for $700 because I worked as a delivery driver for a weed company. I went into work and my boss promptly fired me. For fixing a car. To do my job. Which I need, to pay off the car. He even smiled as he said, “Well this is gonna be real awkward for you.” FML

Today, while working at a chain restaurant, I forgot to charge someone a few dollars for extra toppings on the side. My stingy boss took the time to take that money out of my paycheck. FML

Recruits in the military know how to avoid the 'make work' by officers and bosses- you need to perfect the art of looking busy while doing absolutely nothing. Walk around with a shovel on your shoulder, or look like you are searching through drawers for vital information, or have a task ready should you be challenged. 'I am doing a cross-customer ratio satisfaction data sheet, sir'. If all else fails, you will get 'right on that' as soon as you use the bathroom, or 'find the supplies', which should take you until the next customer comes in.

I work at a towing company. Getting the wreckers spot free and shiny is a pain in the ass, especially when the water is hard and evaporates almost as soon as it makes contact with the black truck

Get the "other duties as required" clause out of your contract. It really gets abused by employers.
