Today, at my school, the student council is trying to raise $5000 for Haiti. They are doing so by playing the song from High School Musical in the hallways and cafeteria everyday until they get the money. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, at my school they were having a carnival to raise money. One of the patrons suggested that if they wanted to make money, they should have people pledge money to make me cover my ugly face with a bag. The school got over $500, and I had to wear a bag. FML
Today, in gym class, we were forced to learn the "Hoedown Throwdown" dance, by Miley Cyrus. This will actually be counted toward my grade. I'm in high school. FML
Today, after two years of vigorously fundraising on behalf of my senior class, they voted on spending the senior trip money at a waterpark. It's less than thirty minutes from where we all live. FML
Today, I'm participating in a 30 hour awareness-raising event on famine in Africa. I'm supposed to hand out leaflets to people from my booth. My school decided to hand out a literal crate-load of free cupcakes right in front of us. FML
Today, I played in a high school concert. Some alumni of the band were sitting in the audience and were brought to tears. Not because it was beautiful, but because they were sad to see how much the music program had declined since they left. FML
Today, they played Nickelback at our school dance. FML
Today, it was the début of the high school musical I was in. When two others and I sang the word "Hell", my mother yelled at us for using that language, while the musical was still going, and dragged me off stage. FML
Today, my school voted for a Pokémon theme for this year's homecoming. FML
Stealing the scene
Today, during a moment of silence in front of the entire high school during my band concert, I managed to hit the stand with my flute, and loudly scrambled to catch it before it fell over. I've never had so many people look at me. FML
Classy Mom
Today, I was elected "class mom", even though I didn’t want to do it. I was also handed several envelopes in the hectic school hallway, containing parental cash contributions for the year. I lost several of the envelopes while rushing to my car, and now have to contribute €100 instead of €25. FML

Sounds kind of fun to me. If you know a lot of people don't like the song, why not set up a stand selling earplugs and send those profits to Haiti as well?

Annoying, but effective.

I hate HSM, but I'll admit that this is pretty darn clever.

They did that for some lame fundraiser when I was in high school except they played Hanson Mmmbob over and over during the passing periods, finally they realized it wasn't a good way to make money because people refused to donate to the "keep playing" box or the "shut it off" box and enough kids complained about not being able to pay attention in class and take tests because of the stupid song stuck in their head. Torture is NOT a good way to get high school kids who only really care about themselves to donate. You get them to donate by having a dance with 10 dollar tickets or something.

Ugh... I remember one year, I think it was my senior year, the administration got tired of the mess in the halls after lunch (we didn't have to eat in the cafeteria because there was only one lunch period), so they started playing the "Clean Up" song from Barney. It was AWFUL.
