Today, at my school, the student council is trying to raise $5000 for Haiti. They are doing so by playing the song from High School Musical in the hallways and cafeteria everyday until they get the money. FML

A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Today, at my school they were having a carnival to raise money. One of the patrons suggested that if they wanted to make money, they should have people pledge money to make me cover my ugly face with a bag. The school got over $500, and I had to wear a bag. FML
Today, in gym class, we were forced to learn the "Hoedown Throwdown" dance, by Miley Cyrus. This will actually be counted toward my grade. I'm in high school. FML
Today, after two years of vigorously fundraising on behalf of my senior class, they voted on spending the senior trip money at a waterpark. It's less than thirty minutes from where we all live. FML
Today, I'm participating in a 30 hour awareness-raising event on famine in Africa. I'm supposed to hand out leaflets to people from my booth. My school decided to hand out a literal crate-load of free cupcakes right in front of us. FML
Today, I played in a high school concert. Some alumni of the band were sitting in the audience and were brought to tears. Not because it was beautiful, but because they were sad to see how much the music program had declined since they left. FML
Today, they played Nickelback at our school dance. FML
Today, it was the début of the high school musical I was in. When two others and I sang the word "Hell", my mother yelled at us for using that language, while the musical was still going, and dragged me off stage. FML
Today, my school voted for a Pokémon theme for this year's homecoming. FML
Today, during a moment of silence in front of the entire high school during my band concert, I managed to hit the stand with my flute, and loudly scrambled to catch it before it fell over. I've never had so many people look at me. FML
Today, I was elected "class mom", even though I didn’t want to do it. I was also handed several envelopes in the hectic school hallway, containing parental cash contributions for the year. I lost several of the envelopes while rushing to my car, and now have to contribute €100 instead of €25. FML

Sounds kind of fun to me. If you know a lot of people don't like the song, why not set up a stand selling earplugs and send those profits to Haiti as well?

ok so for all the people that are saying that we should help haiti till we help the people that live in the us maybe you should look up something online one day and see that we have a lot of help out there for homeless and jobless people all they need to do is look and then there was a lil war that happened in 1775 called the revolutionary war some very nice people called France came over and gave us a hand now from what your saying they shouldnt have done that because they didnt know us and if they had not come to help us when they did then the usa wouldnt be here and we wouldnt be able to help all the people we do everyday so maybe just maybe you should think about all the people that have helped the us whenwe needed before you say we shouldnt go and help them. you never know maybe just maybe when all of this is over haiti will go on to do something great

wow theirs some selfish people on here... you dont feel you should help people in Haiti cuz your country has their own problems? yeah you got your own problems but its a hell of a lot better than what Haiti is facing. even other places than haiti have it worse than you. you cant give $5.00 to a country that has so little but yet you go home each day and have a bed and food which right now someone in Haiti would die to have? you got to look out for one another and stop caring so much about yourself and maybe then you'll realize how fortunate you are. dont be so negative and be grateful. alright i said my speech. im done. haha :)

#86 from reading every comment on here, it seems if Americans do nothing they area POS. granted Americans are better off than most, however, we do try to help as much as possible. I'm just sick of countries getting pissy when we stop helping after a reasonable amount of time. (not specifically in Haiti)

My school did something like this, only with that ******* MMMBop! song and the proceeds went to Special Olympics. Since I already donate and volunteer my time to SO and other charities, I had no intention of paying to stop that shitty music. I just brought an old mp3 player to school and listened to that when I walked to class/ate lunch.
