Today, at my school, the student council is trying to raise $5000 for Haiti. They are doing so by playing the song from High School Musical in the hallways and cafeteria everyday until they get the money. FML

Today, at my school they were having a carnival to raise money. One of the patrons suggested that if they wanted to make money, they should have people pledge money to make me cover my ugly face with a bag. The school got over $500, and I had to wear a bag. FML
Today, in gym class, we were forced to learn the "Hoedown Throwdown" dance, by Miley Cyrus. This will actually be counted toward my grade. I'm in high school. FML
Today, after two years of vigorously fundraising on behalf of my senior class, they voted on spending the senior trip money at a waterpark. It's less than thirty minutes from where we all live. FML
Today, I'm participating in a 30 hour awareness-raising event on famine in Africa. I'm supposed to hand out leaflets to people from my booth. My school decided to hand out a literal crate-load of free cupcakes right in front of us. FML
Today, I played in a high school concert. Some alumni of the band were sitting in the audience and were brought to tears. Not because it was beautiful, but because they were sad to see how much the music program had declined since they left. FML
Today, they played Nickelback at our school dance. FML
Today, it was the début of the high school musical I was in. When two others and I sang the word "Hell", my mother yelled at us for using that language, while the musical was still going, and dragged me off stage. FML
Today, my school voted for a Pokémon theme for this year's homecoming. FML
Today, during a moment of silence in front of the entire high school during my band concert, I managed to hit the stand with my flute, and loudly scrambled to catch it before it fell over. I've never had so many people look at me. FML
Today, I was elected "class mom", even though I didn’t want to do it. I was also handed several envelopes in the hectic school hallway, containing parental cash contributions for the year. I lost several of the envelopes while rushing to my car, and now have to contribute €100 instead of €25. FML

Sounds kind of fun to me. If you know a lot of people don't like the song, why not set up a stand selling earplugs and send those profits to Haiti as well?

it's a typical way for donations. I donated simply so when I saw the "Donate Now!!" stuff on tv or heard it on the radio, I wouldn't feel like a douchebag American. And they need some serious aid. just donate, then you'll be back to your Jonas and Hanna crap.

Minus the fact that the United States has given more aid to Hati than they did to help out when Katrina hit the gulf coast. That in and of itself is incredibly ****** up and I don't agree with it at all. Help yourself before you help others.

except you forget that the reason Haiti is ridiculously poor is that after the Haitian revolution (the first one to actually make everyone free) the US and France were so scared that Haiti would be a bad influence and incite more slave revolutions that they embargoed the shit outta the Haitians. And they've been dirt poor ever since. learn some ******* history. and what the hell would the Haitians have done to help us after Katrina? sent a load of unemployed people up here to help rebuild? no way they'd get in.
