Today, a man tried to rob the store I work at. Before the guy was taken by the cops, he complained to my manager for "unfriendly behavior". He took it seriously and bitched me out for not providing "quality service" to our customers. FML

Today, my boss came around to my way of thinking. He called our customers a "bunch of assholes" and to kick them out if they gave me trouble. When a lady began yelling at me for "setting the damn prices too high" I told her to leave. My boss soon bitched me out for being unprofessional. FML

Today, my manager cussed me out for being unable to keep a customer happy. That "customer" was a senile old twit who had wandered away from his carer, thought our shop was his living room, and demanded to know who replaced all his furniture. FML

Today, I was cussed out by a customer who was unhappy, and he asked to speak with my manager. When I told him I owned the store, he said that that was the problem. Apparently women are "too flaky" to run a bakery properly. FML

Today, a customer threatened to come back later and shoot the whole place up. Why? I didn't give him a discount on his beer. My boss's reaction when I called the police: "Why didn't you give him the discount?!" Last week he bitched me out for letting a girl off for being a few cents short on hers. FML

Today, I was working when I delivered the standard "Hello, how are you?" to a customer. He took the opportunity to tell me about his deceased wife, his estranged children, and his anal tearing. After a while, I tried to help someone else, and he complained to my manager. I was written up. FML

Today, a customer filed a formal complaint with corporate about me, because I wouldn't help her find things she wanted while I was off the clock. We were in a completely different store than the one where I actually work. FML

Today, at work, I had a customer accuse me of taking the giftcard I had issued her for her return, after spending 15 minutes trying to fix her screwed up transaction. She began to yell, and follow me around the store. Security had to intervene and I had to be locked in an office until she left. FML

I know how you feel OP. I work in retail and get yelled at by managers all day long for shitty customers "complaining." don't let it get to you!

Yep cause strange people only live in the U.S. Must be enlightening to be that ignorant. Travel a little and see that all around the world there is rude and weird people. -source: a well traveled, rude ass, proud American .

I do travel a lot! Have met stupid people but all of them have been "marginally" stupid compared to this and other things I read in FML! Just read the latest one about the neighboring son stealing fuel from a lawn mower, and you'll see. You will NEVER find someone that stupid in Sweden or any parts of the world. That includes the third world too

FML isn't exactly the best place to compare stupidity between countries. This is a website specifically designed for sharing stupid stories as opposed to your travels where I highly doubt people were clamoring to share these types of stories with you which I'm sure exist, and where the idiots were spread out and not magically grouped in one place for you to get a good look at.
