Slam the brakes

Today, I totaled my car, because I mistook the leaves blowing across the road for a child. I swerved and hit a tree. The home owner wants to sue for "harming his tree" and hospital wants to test my mental stability. FML

I really don't see how you can mix those two up... Well at least if the hospital finds you crazy you'll get a little vacation.

Hmm, those doctors are crazy (no pun intended) if they think it's completely "normal" for people to see things that obviously not there leading to a myriad of colorful diagnoses that they probably think you COULD have:( All I can say In your case though, granted there was leaves blowing across the road so you haven't lost your *hit and gone insane...your not completely there...YET, Just remember that for MOST borderline personality disorders are almost just that, on the border, between neurotic and psychotic, sure your mind might occasionally cross over and visit but you don't live there. I feel like I'v gone into way to much thought for this but I do have ADHD so lol o well

It's called Pareidolia. It's a psychological phenomenon involving a vague and random sound or image being perceived as significant. Like the man in the moon or shaped clouds or even "face" recognition in mirrors etc.

Hey #98 thats a important variable in this FML, Just think poor OP could of been out driving at 2:00am in a friggin blizzard when those leaves blew across the street, (of course the new question would be WHY there would be a kid out at that time but hey better safe than sorry, Or it coulda been like rainy or something...

But 54, perhaps you should consider the possibility that this fml is unrelated as there are many trees, every day, just waiting to be hit by a vehicle.

Hey #101 That's true, there's plenty of stuff to crash your- (not you as in you, you as in anybody perhaps, that owns and drives a) -car/truck/van/spaceship? at/on/in/through stuff. P.S. On a side note I had no ideas those evil b@$t@rds called trees where just waiting to GET me lol (just kidding I'v always known they hated me, 'cause they make their leaves look like children to try and trick me to lose control of my car and crash!!!

Dude that sucks.... But don't worry you aren't the only one I've almost done that before and I mix trees and hard rails and dabree in the road up for tones of stuff and nearly crash my car.. At least you know if it was a kid you wouldn't have hit it!!!!
