Silver linings

Today, I went shopping for a new pair of jeans. I was feeling good about the fact that I was going down a waist size until the cashier decided to discuss with me, three co-workers, and the ten other people in line how she didn't even know jeans came in sizes that big. FML

#48 some people think anything over a size 6 is fat. Would you tell a size 8 to lose weight? noone and I repeat noone is fat unless they were the x sizes like 1x 2x then you can call the person fat. But a size 12 or 14 or even 16 isn't fat. As for men they follow a whole different set of rules. You could wear a size 46 and be built or where a 35 waist and be fat with a skinny waist.

I think a size 16 at any height for a woman is overweight. Even if you were 6 foot, you'd be pushing 170 or more. I think anything size 12 and below is normal, depending on height of course.

Um.....the normal weight range for a woman of 6' is 136.4 lb - 182.6 lb. 170lb would put you right in the middle of your normal range with a BMI of 23.1 Don't make stupid remarks when you don't know what the **** you're talking about.

Since it says his waist is smaller i'm assuming he's working on it. asshole.

hey asshole, some people have problems with their thyroid or have diabetes or sumthin' so they can't help it! go **** of and stop being so judgmental!

Wow, i'd assume she's an idiot, obviously. I'm assuming you're not HUGE huge, right? but if it bugged you that much, talk to the manager next time you go to that store

thats just messed up,she probly wasnt meaning it in they way of calling you big, cause your probly not at all

Yea, this isn't an "I'm fat and crying about it" FML it's a "rude and ignorant salesperson" FML. That person was unprofessional, rude and tasteless. And apparently an idiot, because if she worked at the store she should be more familiar of the sizes. I would definitely complain- you might be embarrassed, but it shouldn't go unchecked. And for everyone saying YDI, the OP clearly stated that she went down a size so she is clearly working on being at a more healthy weight. STFU and show some support. Even if she was not, there is no reason the salesperson should be so outta line.

Speak to manager. Have cashier fired. Ask to be there when it happens.

Start eating every meal at a local chain sandwich shop. Maybe you can be the next Jared, the lucky bastard. How come a guy who puts on 250 lbs and then takes it off gets to be a superstar, but >99.999% of guys that work hard to keep a normal weight don't? But I am in the same boat as you. Maybe not the same, but similar. I probably a chubby tug compared to your supertanker. When you are fat, you can lose a lot of weight and guess what? You're still fat! Good for you for losing weight, and press on. I've lost a lot of weight lately, but it is going to be a long time before I debut the "topless plexico" icon ;)

Jared (Subway commercials) is only popular because I guess he may have had connections to the right people in marketing and PR. As the saying goes, "It is not about what you know, it is about WHO you know," and that is true in just about every industry all over the world. Back on subject, the OP should discuss this with the general store manager (GSM) as soon as possible. Coming from a guy who has worked many retail jobs, what the employee did is unacceptable and while I would not push to have her fired, I would push to have the GSM resolve the situation (a discount, at the very least).

If you're the one asking questions like "What is OP" and "What does YDI mean? I'm new?" just google the damn answers. If you don't know what google it is, just go read a book.

i dont think i asked you, you ignorant b*tch. i know what google is you dumb ass. excuse me for just signing up and not knowing what the abreviations stand for. mind your business. c*ntness is a disease, go get yourself help. maybe hanging yourself would help you?

Pfft. She is an ignorant idiot who has no understanding of customer service, or just general human interaction. You dropped down a size, so feel good!

Yeah, don't worry about what asses like that cashier say. Congratulations! You went down a size. It has to start somewhere, so don't be discouraged.

Sounds like the cashier needs to learn a little something called TACT.
