Today, my daughter ran up to a librarian working in the kids section and screamed "MOMMY!" and hugged her. She looked at her and said "I'm not your mommy." My daughters reply: "I know. But you're better than mommy" FML

Don't worry about it. Some kids just have people that they like to see. Maybe your librarian's really nice and so she's your daughter's favorite person. Either way, FYL

aw. This happened when my sister was little. She went up to our mom and said "look mom I love you but I love mrs moony more". (her preschool teacher) But don't stress my sister forgot all about it. I'm sure your daughter will too

Young kids don't really understand - don't take it personally.

Good for you for taking your child to the library, reading is awesome. She'll get over it, kids are always saying stuff.

she probably likes the librarian better right now because ur her mother and ur great and all but ur also the enforcer. the one who makes her eat her veggies, gives her time outs, and makes her go to bed. Her librarian doesnt do any of that so all she sees is that. thats how kids are. i did something similar to my mom when i was little and it hurt her. i felt awful once i understood! my mom and I are as close as ever and always have been. i dont love anyone more than her! ur daughter didnt mean it :o)

Kids think that way - they like the people who spoil them and they seem better than their mothers. They're too young understand that the restrictions mothers put on them is usually for their own good. When your daughter is sick or sad or needs comfort in some way, you'll be the first person she goes to.
