Sounds like a classic case of the friend zone, it's not impossible to leave, but I think in this case, it's pretty clear she's just not into you, sorry OP.

My ex-girlfried (who I was and still am friends with) asked me who i had a crush on and I went silent, and she said "do you have a crush on me?" I awkwardly answerd yes and she said that was cute.later on she typed in the chat (we where play an online game) That she kinda liked me. and as the week progressed she said she had feelings for me and she loved me and she told me to ask her out, so i did and we dated for a few weeks but we broke up before school started but we still remaine friends and she says she still has feelings for me. So anything is possible.

When I'm in that situation I'll say something like "I think so and so is pretty cute a guess." But then explain that I just think they're cute and I don't have a crush on them. Yeah it sorta hints at it but it's better than telling them
