Today, after months of all my friends telling me that the guy whom I was in love with most definitely held feelings for me, I was finally convinced by their words, and with confidence I went and confessed my feelings to him. I was rejected. FML

It's better hurt for a moment, than be remaining in the dark for a lifetime.

Aw that sucks OP, but your friends thought he loved you too, was he leading you on or something?

Maybe her friends were just saying it to not let her down? Or maybe by "leading her on" he could've just been polite and nice to her. These days being nice can be misinterpreted as flirting.

That's definitely a good point.

Don't worry, you'll find someone who will share the same feelings. :)

Sorry, that sucks when people lie about that stuff. You'll find someone!

Either your friends knew that I were just messing with you, or they geniunely thought it. Doesnt hurt to try.

That sucks OP. But at least you had the courage to talk to him about your feelings! I wouldn't even be able to do that. Dust your self off and try again. You'll meet someone great.

F that is much rather never let my crush know I like him than take a chance and be rejected

Why are u on every single fml with top comment? Teach me your ways!

Honestly? Life is too short to not try, OP. You'll make hits and you'll make misses. It's a fact of life and playing it's game. So he rejected you, that doesn't mean anything. He clear doesn't see the potential he could have with you but someone down the line will. Don't let this discourage you from still attempting things. Also, you should always be confident. There's no reason for you not to be confident in yourself. You'll be surprised how attractive many find that in a person. Take life and carry on, OP! You'll find someone worth your time

Hey, I give you props to having the guts to do that! Not everybody can do that so be happy you did so because it's honestly a good quality in a person to have confidence.

Well atleast you tried OP. 10 years down the line atleast you would know that you had tried and not think "what if" you had proposed. Knowing is always better than not knowing.

That was worst case scenario and you can now move on and find a guy interested in you instead of pining over Rejecto go catch some fish OP
