Today, I walked into Starbucks for a job application. I asked the manager if they were hiring, as I really need a job. He looked me up and down and replied, "NO!" There was a 'Now hiring' sign in the window. FML

Today, after being recently laid off at work due to "cutbacks", I went job searching around town. During my drive, I cruised past my old workplace and saw a "now hiring" sign in their window. FML

Today, while going around trying to find a job, a manager came up to ask me, "Are you looking to work here?" I nodded happily, hoping this would be the end of my search. She looked me up and down, saw I had a jacket on to hide my tattoos and said, "Sorry, I can't hire heroin addicts." FML

Today, I was desperately handing out resumes. I came to my local grocery store and asked for a job application, the customer service rep told me all she needed was my resume. I smiled and gave it to her only to see her read it, laugh and put it straight in the garbage as I walked out. FML

Today, I went to Starbucks to get coffee. The employees told me that there was no more coffee. I started cursing at them and told them that I am in a really big hurry, and that I need coffee every day. They had been yelling back the whole time. Little did I realize, they were saying April Fool's. FML

Today, I went to an interview for a job at a company I've applied for numerous times this year. When I showed up at the interview room, I found it was a vacant office. I called and confirmed the address. I guess this was my hint to stop applying. FML

#4 - re-read the fml verrry carefully alot of places have those up and just never take them down even when they don't need people.... like the kfc near my place that has the rusted, crooked sign near the drive through.

Starbucks has a policy to always say they are hiring at all times. Obviously. Have you ever seen them not hiring? I work at Starbucks, they have been laying off people like crazy. They are not going to hire someone who asks rhetorical questions. Hand in an application and a resume. Don't be stupid.

I would have gotten a cup of plain coffee and thrown it in his face and told him to **** himself. It's one thing to say "we're not hiring right now" but he had to be a smug ******** and say no just for looking you up and down, thats pretty ****** up.

to #46 not necessary. i work at a starbucks and that is how I dress. I am a trainer there. Honestly though. Guys at starbucks are very rare. At least around here in MI. At my store we have had 6 different ones and we only have one that we did not have to fire.

he probably said that because the sign was out there. he doesn't want people who ask questions about clearly stated issues. I know they irritate me. like when I worked at gamestop, this old lady walked in and looking me dead in the eye with all seriousness asked me, "Do you sell video games here?" I had to refrain from punching her in the dentures....

lmao @ the GameStop situation, I think the manager clearly stated "no" because of your stupidity, not because your ugly. Who asks whether they are? it's like asking walmart if they still have snuggies while the damn sign is clearly there, not to mention snuggies look retarded.
