Long distance

Today, I'm in my fourth month of training in the US Navy. I'm 3000 miles from home. I joined to give my wife a better life. Since I've been gone, she decided that she liked being single. FML

A common enough story. If you value your relationships you don't join the military.

Thank you for all you're doing for our country. Anyone who's saying you deserve it is an asshole. She's got issues and doesn't deserve you.

@27 What do you think you're fighting for, sir? Our FREEDOM? I've never understood why all military men and families of them insist that "dey're over der fightin' fer our freedom!" How does that even begin to make sense? I don't feel safer that we're in other parts of the world, antagonizing people. Violence just begets more violence, and us shaking down other people isn't making me feel any safer and definitely isn't making me any more free.

Hahahahaha Mercy.... you're awesome

That's because idiots like you think that the freedom you enjoy just came to you with no effort by anyone. You're not smart enough to understand it but others made it happen. Don't worry though. Even though you're not brave enough to fight for your own liberty, there will always be those that do it because they feel it's their duty to do the right thing. "Violence begets violence." You mean like in Japan, Germany, and Italy? Or maybe we never should have fought England for our own independence and freedom. Maybe France should have remained under the rule of iron-fisted tyrants? Maybe the US should have just rolled over after we were attacked on 9/11 but I'm guessing you're one of those idiot truthers who don't believe fire can melt steel or any of the hundreds of independents experts who have all basically said that truthers are idiots who don't understand physics are pretty much anything else. Yes, we should have just rolled over and blamed ourselves. Morons.

Can we give this man an applause people? This guy is the perfect example of the so-called "brainwashed American". This species appears to lose intelligence very quickly as evolution continues. Seriously though. Anyone with half a brain would know not to compare those historical events (which had a reason) to the invasion of Afghanistan and Iraq, which have only become worse after the 'almighty' USA decided to come by. You definitely should have blamed yourselves. I'm not going into 9/11 conspiracy theories, much to vague a territory, but everything that happened afterwards was very uncalled for.

i meant amen to the so called "brain washed american" not those other people. please feel free to relocate to canada if you dont like whats we have to offer here

you fool, going into IRAQ because of 9/11 was nothing more than retarded (though of course 9/11 has nothing to do with why we went to Iraq).

Pshen, please read the following statement, read it well, and reread it about 10 times, because this is really hard to understand for people like you: NOT. EVERYONE. ON. THE. INTERNET. IS. AMERICAN. There are other countries out there. I realise this is a scary concept, but America is not alone.

Just because you don't understand something doesn't mean it's not happening. I don't know how a computer is put together, but I don't go around saying it doesn't work because I don't understand it. The concept of fighting for freedom is difficult for people who just listen to what they see on the liberal news. Until you actually go out and fight and see the difference our men and women are doing, you can't say they're not keeping you free. Grow some balls, join the military, and then judge for yourself.

I'm going to repeat something I've said before on here: YOU. CANNOT. DEFEND. YOUR. OWN. COUNTRY. ON. A. DIFFERENT. CONTINENT. Got it? CANNOT. Don't call it fighting for freedom because it is not.

facmebene 0

THANK YOU!!! f-ing finally someone who has phrased it perfectly.

facmebene 0

how about defending other people's freedom? I have a friend who lived in Iraq under Sadaam Hussein. He has told me straight out that there was no such thing as freedom of speech. If he were to have said the "wrong" thing he would have been arrested and killed. So what is it that you're saying then, first-world countries are the only ones allowed to have the basic civil rights and all those third-world countries be damned? because that's what I got from it.

Now you have a free pass to bang a broad in every country. Sure, it hurts now, but you come out on top. You'll get to see the world and the women.

dude thats ******* terrible. i have no respect for people who cheat, and when you are doing what you can to provide for your wife and create a new family she is being a complete ****. 30, shut the **** up. regardless of what you believe is worth fighting for, whether or not its anything at all, this man is doing a patriotic and masculine act of both getting a job in this shithole of an economy and doing something of value to society. all you ******* hippies think that every american soldier is just a jarhead looking to ignorantly kill some arab **** are assholes. without a ******* military system, this country would not be as developed and it certainly wouldn't be under a free and capitalist reign. if you don't like our ******* army, go to canada. weed is legal there, you can drink at 19 and be a ******* little hippie there. OP, i feel for ya man, and i hope you get even with that *****.

Christ, do you ever sound like an ignorant ****. I hate these war-mongering assholes who insult anyone who dislikes fighting. If that's really the only thing upon which your country was founded, I'm so glad I'm not a part of it. Also, marijuana is not legal in Canada. Get your shit straight, you gun-toting moron.

It actually is in very small amounts a couple of grams, not enough to distribute.

It probably isn't legal though. It's not even legal in The Netherlands, contrary to popular belief.

aww I am so sorry! I am a former army wife. my husband found someone that was also in the service he liked better. totally sux. especially since I stood by him through all trainings and a deployment. I was pregnant the whole time he was at AIT.. not all women are bitches and walk away just gotta find the right one who respects and understands what your doing

I'd just like to know if the OP had a discussion with his wife prior to him joining the military. Did it ever occur to anyone that maybe she DIDN'T want him to join just to give her a better life, and that maybe there's another way to work toward that goal together? I'd be pissed as shit if my boyfriend joined the army/navy/marines/whatever and told me that he was doing it to give me a better life. Big whoop, maybe you're making more money than you would at whatever job you had previously, but you'll be gone for months on end in training, who knows where you'll be shipped out to and how long you'll be gone and hell, you might get shot and killed. Somehow that doesn't seem like a better life to me. I don't give a shit about money; I care about the man I'm with doing what HE wants, not what he thinks I want. For the women that go into their relationships knowing their SO is in the military, they KNOW what they're getting into. She obviously didn't sign up for this. I'm not saying YDI, but F both YL.

I totally respect what you said #37. I hope I meet a woman as great as you one day.

thanks for serving your country. since i pay your salary and benefits let me speak. i get action EVERY day. i do not buy my friends with benfits one damn thing. i am a total ahole, tool, douchebag, jerk to all the girls i know. yet they just keep calling and texting and doing me over and over. Dont get married or Tied down unless you want to cry like a pussy whipped little boy all day.

Big man you are buddy...even money says your a high school dropout pushing a broom and living in your moms basement.

Thank you for your service. Please read #37's post, because it says a lot. If you discussed going into the Navy and she agreed, then decided to be single, that really sucks. But if you joined without discussing it with her, that's a huge thing to decide without your wife's feelings and input to consider. I do hope you find someone who can support you in what you're doing. Good luck.

If you think she'd prefer to get the paycheck of a lower-ranking sailor to your dick, no wonder she out there sampling new ones.

Plexico, I don't know how you do it, but every time you comment, I can't do anything but laugh and agree.
