Today, I told my boss that I quit, and handed in my two week's notice. A couple of hours later, I found my letter of resignation had been photocopied and copies hung all around the office with "Best day ever" written on the bottom. FML

Today, I told my boss I'm going to quit, after months of being abused, doing meaningless work, and working late every day. I was soon given so many new projects that I didn't even have time to write my resignation letter. FML

Today, I tried to quit my job. My boss pulled me into his office and gave me a write-up for quitting, told me that he knows where I live and that I'd better be at work tomorrow or he's going to come and drag me into work. FML

Either your boss is a jerk or they want you to write one for them so they can quit (depending on the situation).

What events preceded this? At my work if you **** up bad they will sometimes give you a chance to quit and save face instead of firing you. I know two people who deserved to be fired, but were given the chance to resign.
