Today, my friend bought a smartphone and updated his Facebook status with it. Two weeks ago he signed an apartment lease with another friend. Four months ago he bought a new handgun. Seven months ago he bought a new TV. He's owed me $300 for a year and a half. FML

Ugh, I had a friend just like this. I bailed him out of jail for $450, which he promised to repay. This was about 5 years ago. Guess who's not my friend anymore?

Here's what happened: a year and a half ago (from when this fml was posted), the op's friend borrowed $300 from the op. Since then he has bought himself several expensive items and yet still hasn't paid back the op's $300. Do you get it now? Do you?

OP, I feel your pain, down to the same dollar amount, time since loan, and simply dumb spending habits... Maybe some day, years from now, we`ll get a sudden surprise of 300 long-forgotten dollars... ...and maybe not. ;-)
