Today, I was telling a new friend of mine about my boyfriend. I told her his name and where he is from. She interrupted me and says, "Yeah drives a big white truck, rides dirt bikes?! I dated him two years ago!" This guy and I have dated for four years. FML

she is with him. she's not married but that doesn't put her not with him. a lot of people these days don't jump the marriage trolley so quick. I would much rather date for 4 years (especially if I started dating the guy in question at a younger age) so that I would be older and more mature and very comfortable with the guy I'm marrying. So, definitely not a ydi in the sense you think it is.
