Awww, sweetie

Today, I took my mom out to a fancy restaurant, and spent close to $300 on her Mother's Day present. Later, my little brother drew her a card with crayons on pink construction paper. She cried. He's 20 years-old. FML

just goes to show money doesn't buy happiness

At least your Mom cares for the sentimental things. Mine bitched at me for not getting her anything. I'm 1,000 miles away and unemployeed. Called her several times throughout the day to at least wish her a Happy Mother's Day. She never picked up. She only called back to bitch at me.

did you expect her to cry because you took her out to an expensive dinner?

lol, bringing back childhood memories... Paying for something? No one really remembers most of the times they've gone out to eat.

I think its the thought and work that counts. I made a handmade card and my mum cried.

that's good isn't it... next year dun spend so much money... just draw something with crayons will do

I'm going with YDI for thinking you're the better child because you spent money. It doesn't work that way. All my 18th birthday cards from my family were done in crayon, and they were so cute and nostalgic, I cried.

that is full of win i was gonna use crayons on my card to my mom too, but i dont have any crayons i had to use markers instead

Oh man. Don't get me started. I used to enter the colouring in competitions at maccas when I was just a kid and they would always give the prize to the retard who couldnt stay within the lines and made grimace green. FML

Awwwww, now isn't that sweet. We all should preserve that little child in our hearts.
