Today, I took an Uber from work to my friend's home. My water bottle, which was in my backpack in the back seat, leaked and left a little water on his fabric seat. I got an $80 "professional cleaning" bill from Uber. FML

Probably thought it was urine.

You can probably dispute that, OP. Uber is pretty good about listening to customers and refunding when appropriate.

Honestly, the circumstances are sad but employers do not like an employee that instantly has to take off work. Your father is to blame but the employer was doing what most would do.

Why did this post to this post? Comment fail.

For water smh they should have ask what was in your bag or what you split before charging you

Well known scam. Just dispute it with Uber

As an uber driver, a. they have no way of knowing what's there and we have to send pictures and an incident report to uber, they decide whether to charge or not... b. lost opportunity waiting for it to "just dry". As the next guy are you gonna be happy to sit in some unknown wet spot in my car? c. why is it my responsibility to make sure grown people can cap their own water? No, I'm not calling to see if you spilled water or pissed. I'm assuming the worst because in our experience people treat it like not their car, not their problem. I transport my kids in that same car. So I'm making sure it's sanitary.
