Today, while shopping at American Eagle, I found the same "$1,500" wedding ring my fiancé proposed to me with, marked on sale for $10.95. FML

Why does it matter how much the ring was? He cares about you, obviously, so get over it. People shouldn't have to spend a ton of money on a gift. He was just trying to save money, but he still got his message out: he loves you.

Oh because he doesn't love you unless it's the most expensive ring on the market? grow up.

Hun, any time a guy feels the need to proclaim to you how much it cost (assuming that's what he did) you can probably assume the amount is a lie.

Maybe it's a different ring ..

if you can't tell the difference, you don't deserve such an expensive ring...

Nobody mentioned that maybe she feels a bit sheepish if she had been showing off her ring, not knowing it was a fake, or at least looked like one. Lying boyfriend the big fail. Price matters mostly because if he is not rich, a lot of planning, time and sweat went into that ring, and he really is serious about marrying you. A gumball trash ring passed off as a diamond means the joke is on you, and he will be cheating and gone before the plating wears down on the ring. (even if he thinks he meant it at the time)
