Today, the whole family came over to celebrate my 18th birthday. My grandfather bought me a giant mathematics book. Apparently, he didn't want my 16 year old sister to be "jealous", so he got her the new iPad. FML

Today, my stepmother proved once again that she likes to play favourites. She has no job, so anything she gifts comes from my dad’s account. On my last birthday, I got £5 on a cheap card. Today, my step-brother's birthday, he got £400 and an iPad. He’s 4 years old. FML

Today, I celebrated my birthday. When asked last week, I said I wanted a keyboard. When I opened the present, my parents went into hysterics. It was an electronic Dora the Explorer keyboard. I've been studying music composition and theory for six years. They think my major's a joke. FML

Today, it’s my birthday. My family tradition is that whoever has the birthday chooses the dinner. I chose pizza, but my older sister had a tantrum, complete with throwing my phone at the wall, breaking it, saying she wanted Chinese instead. My parents ordered Chinese. FML

Today, I told my parents that what I'd really like for my 21st birthday is the 1865 edition of the Memoirs of Saint-Simon in 22 volumes that I found online for $200, and have been wanting for months. Psh, an iPad? What can you really do with that? But a giant math pad? Why, you can make paper airplanes, play tic-tac-toe, doodle, origami...oh, and learn math! You DEFINITELY got the better end of that deal.

That is horrible! Seriously, but I'm typing this on my sisters iPad. :p She is two years younger than me but she got this on her birthday, and I got a laptop before the iPad came out because I really wanted one on my birthday. Your grandpas logic is really messed up sorry op! Try freebiejeebies?

I got gifted an expensive, top-of-the-line hairdryer once while my twin sister got gifted a hot water bottle. I literally cringed for her.. We share the hairdryer now.
