Today, my step-mother threw a surprise party on my acceptance to college. People kept telling me how delightfully shocked and happy they are for me. "UPenn" was written everywhere, when I really got into Penn State. Everyone thinks I'm going to an Ivy League. FML

A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Today, my mom called and told me I got accepted to my first-choice college. I got really excited and asked her to read me the letter. As she started to read it, she said, "Oops... uh, nevermind." FML
Today, I received my acceptance letter to one of the most prestigious universities in the US, as well as a nice scholarship. I was so proud of myself, I eagerly showed my dad, hoping he would shed a tear or two. His only words were, "Just get a job so you can get the hell out of my house." FML
Today, I excitedly told my mom how I got accepted to the master’s program of my dreams. She decided now would be a good time to proudly repeat for the millionth time how she gave up a full ride to the Ivy League to marry my father, and I ought to be a "good woman" and do the same. FML
Today, I attended my school's special invitation-only awards ceremony, relieved that I was getting a much-needed scholarship. I watched all my friends go up and win scholarships. In the end, I only got a certificate for doing well on the PSAT. My whole family showed up for this. FML
Today, I got a large envelope from a college I applied to earlier. My mom, expecting big news, made my family gather round as I opened it. It ended up being a letter of rejection from not just that school, but all three campuses of the state college. FML
Today, I was accepted to the college of my dreams. Then I checked the address. Turns out, the letter was meant for my neighbor. I was actually denied. FML
Today, I announced to my family that I got accepted into Harvard. My grandma laughed and muttered, "Liar." FML
Today, I got a letter from Yale Law School saying I got a 4 year full scholarship. I called my dad crying and read the whole thing… even the bottom of the letter, which said, "April fools' ! Love, Mom and Dad." FML
Today, when taking a group picture with my closest friends, a passing parent congratulated us on getting into the same university for next year. She's wrong. They're all going to Cambridge, except for me. I was rejected. FML
Today, I threw myself a surprise party. FML

dear #113, that video you are parading around us not true of penn state fans. in fact, the one kid who clearly throws the beer at the ohio state fans is a pitt student. get your facts straight. also, #164, penn state is a university. the best in the world! additionally, #151, we are is our thing. you don't like it? you can shove it. also, check your facts. penn state UNIVERSITY PARK students are not b averages and middle sat scores. most of us are students who could've gone to upenn but chose to have an excellent college experience. do NOT compare us to the mediocre branch campus students. love, a true penn stater

Penn State is ranked 47th and is said to be, "more selective" NOT "most selective". Meaning it is not that difficult to get into as other schools are. They accept about half of their students. Which is a lot when compared to the likes of other schools. It also accepts applications on a rolling basis. Meaning that they continue to take in students until the class fills up. Here are the facts. Draw whichever conclusions you see fit. However, to the douche who wanted to run his mouth about how Ivy League students aren't studying economics and how we are full of shit, listen to this. UPenn has the top ranked business program in the country. Look at its ranking on US News. While I don't go to UPenn (I'm stationed in Hanover), I still respect its tradition as a fellow ivy league institution. Not every Ivy League student is an asshole. Your inability to work hard and your half ass attempts at a social life at the price of getting good grades makes you a pathetic loser. You are an adult now you dick. Grow the **** up and move on with the rest of the world. You nonchalant attitude is neither cool or inspiring. So STFU.

PENN STATE IS AMAZING. UPenn is cool and all if you want to have no life....but don't feel bad that you got into PSU....once you get there, you will know that it is AMAZING.

It's definitely not about the stats. I don't really care about the "stats". And it's not about PSU being better than UPenn. What it's about is that there's really no other school like Penn State. Sorry, but there just isn't. It's not just the football, it's everything. I go to main campus and there's really nothing like it. When I got in, some of my family members made the same mistake and called it UPenn, big deal, I corrected them and moved on. GO TO PENN STATE!!! Penn State is a CULTURE, it's a way of life, and it's about having pride! That's why we say: WE ARE!!!

@177 oh dont get me wrong. college is college, but what bothers me are the people who say penn state is better than upenn on the basis they go to penn state. if u have no experience of the life at upenn than ur not in a position to place penn state ahead of upenn. i at least give the upenn ppl some credit cause they claim to be a better school with stats to back it up. in the end who gives a ****. go to college. go party. **** some bitches. get a degree. make some money. go party some more.
