Today, my sister found out she contracted ringworm and scabies from her best friend's rescued kittens. The entire family now has to be treated to prevent it from spreading. There are 7 people in our house and none of us have health insurance. FML

just keep your distance and stay clean. worst case scenario. just the ones showing signs of infection need to be treated.

She did a good deed. Look online for home remedies. If not, ERs can't refuse you treatment even without the ability to pay. I would use that as a last ditch effort though.

so healthcare is still free but other stuff is just more expensive to pay for healthcare so it seems like there is free healthcare which is just as good as it being free to us

yes I know it is not free and our taxes are higher but at least in Canada when we go to hospitals we don't have to worry about paying the bill that comes after. Even if you are poor and need an expensive operation you won't be worrying about how you are going to pay.

If there are 7 people in your house, my guess would be at least one or two of them are under eighteen, which would make them eligible for the CHIP program or whatever they call it now. And then steal their meds.

whoever told you that you need to be treated should be fired so I hope it wasn't a doctor and it was just your friend or sister because humans cannot get scabies from animals and animals cannot get them from humans. they are different and die within 24hr should it get on you. which for you would mean no treatment. http://www.headlice.org/faq/scabies.htm above is a site that shows you

actually humans can get animal scabies. rare but it happens. I know someone personally that it has happened to.
