Today, my ex took my cat and gave her to an animal shelter while I was at work, saying he can't stand living with her any longer. He's moving out in 2 days. FML

Go to the animal shelter. Explain that your ex said he can'tlive with your cat anymore and you had to choose. Then tell them your ex is moving out tomorrow. They'll probably give you your cat back and won't be able to stop laughing.

That's awful! I'd go get your cat back and torch his stuff! I would also inform him since there would be no point in staying because he has nothing else to get, he is free to leave... ASAP.

That's what laws about theft are for. Cat is your property. You have vet bills, deposits for the apartment, food, litter, toys, etc. costs, right? Ergo, the cat is valuable. Take his ass to court for theft and nail him for emotional pain and suffering too.
