Today, my boyfriend told me he hasn't been to the dentist in two years and definitely doesn't plan on it because, "That's just how the government steals more money." FML

If he still takes care of his teeth I don't see why it matters.

He still brushes his teeth right? he doesn't use breath mints to cover his breath for 6 months?

wtf that is a stupid reason to dump some one

In fact I haven't been to the dentist in about two years, however I don't smoke and brush my teeth twice daily plus gargling free meals. Plus I havent seen any signs of tooth decay etc.

You should have asked him to get some braces so he could act as an antenna for the Governments mind control device that affects all idiots...

I need to stop posting when I drink...

As long as he's brushing his teeth & his mouth doesn't look disgusting she shouldn't dump him.

I haven't been to the dentist in a LONG time because my parents haven't taken me... I still take care of my teeth, dont see how its "disgusting"...

My bf has never been to the dentist and his teeth are fine. As long as you look after your teeth you don't really need a dentist.

Dentists are like surgeons, if there's nothing wrong, there's no reason to go. As long as the guy takes care of his teeth he's fine.

Actually, just because you brush doesn't mean you wont have decay. Lots of times you wont even notice until it gets really bad, so I feel that this is a bad reason not to go to the dentist regularly.

I don't see how this is disgusting. In Australia it's recommended we see the dentist only every two years, it would just be a waste of money otherwise. I don't know any statistics but I'd say we have fine teeth. I personally have never had any fillings or anything. As long as you look after your teeth, what's the problem?

i thought the FMLpart was his stupidity, not him not going to the dentist.

68 is right. I didn't go to the dentist for 10 years because my parents never took me. I finally went on my own at 19 because I heard dental problems can affect your brain and the x-rays showed 7 cavities. I brushed my teeth twice a day, and never felt any pain or anything in my teeth. I wasn't flossing very often though, so that might have had something to do with it.

That's right and they also check for other things like oral cancers

Are you from Kentucky? ...And is he your cousin?

glamorous18 10

#2: it's West Virginia, you idiot. are you blonde?

#40: By the looks of their profile picture. Yes.

I'm sorry #2, why the hell did you ask OP if he was her cousin when the FML clearly stated 'boyfriend'?

TheDrifter 23

It's a Yankee slur against southerners, suggesting that they date and procreate with their direct relatives.

however, we all know it's not only the southerners that do that.

Why are there so many unsolved murders in Kentucky?.... There are no dental records and everybody has the same DNA... Comment is based off a joke... Calm yourselves people...

I got it, and its the truest and funniest I have read all night!!! LMFAO!!

It's an extremely rude joke, 107. Like Jesus Christ, that's just so uncalled for.

wow where's your sense of humor?

triplebeerox 27

That's really disgusting. Tell him to freaking brush his teeth!

triplebeerox 27

Ooops. Sorry, should've reread my comment before posting.

He still brushes his teeth right? he doesn't use breath mints to cover his breath for 6 months?

Wow op, looks like you caught yourself a real brainiac

Ew.. Just tell him you won't kiss him until he brushes his teeth

Wow, I read that wrong. I meant until he goes to the dentist, not brush his teeth

A person usually to the dentist every six months. So you are saying that OP gets to kiss her boyfriend only twice a year?

If he still takes care of his teeth I don't see why it matters.

Well, regardless of how great you take care of your teeth, cavities can still form between the teeth, or erosion can start to appear. That's why visiting the dentist regularly is a good idea; prevention is better than cure.

It's true! Don't doubt him! The Government is just a front, DENTIST OFFICES are where the REAL Governing happens! Don't be fooled by blankets of lies!

We all know they implant mind control devices and gps locators when filling cavities...

YeaSo3 14

although I loveeee you guys sarcasm...its a very high posibility..at least about the tracking devices.

As long as he brushes his teeth and takes care of them, by flossing and using mouthwash, going to the dentist isn't as important.

This is true. I am a dental assistant, I have not been in the chair for two years either. Proper preventative care is key!

I would never trust a dentist whose own assistant never let his teeth get checked.

Actually mouthwash dries out your mouth which increases bacteria in the long run. Better to brush & floss.

You are right. Mouthwash with alcohol will help to erode the gums.

I have not been to the dentist in like 6 years ha

I can top you on that one, it's been about seven and a half for me. My family doesn't have dental coverage with the insurance so we only go if something hurts. I don't see how the dental visits matter if you take good care of the teeth on your own.

lifesucks1217 6

its been over 6 years for me that's why I said *like* lol

It was 15 years since I went to the dentist a couple years ago for a cleaning. I take decent care of my teeth and have no more problems with them than most anybody my age. I have no worries.
