Today, my boyfriend proposed. The ring just had a piece of graphite on it. My boyfriend argued that since graphite and diamonds are both just forms of carbon, it is the same thing. FML

my god op...at least he loves u... and yeah. maybe he is cheap...BUT...if u have such a gigantic problem with it why r u still with him. he's committing his life to u and all u see is black and white....

I'd have said no, just on principal. If he had said he thought you'd like it, that would be different. He just sounds like a jaskass. He could have gotten a fake diamond and that would have been better. He didn't put any thought in to the purchase of the ring and that's a slap in the face. I wouldn't expect a ring if I got engaged. I don't need two rings. Just a wedding ring would be fine. I expect to wear it all the time. It doesn't make me materialistic to want it to be pretty.

very funny 36 XD and if u love him then it all works out ;p

Stfu that's creative and smart of him.

he has a valid argument. both of them ARE carbon, plus diamonds are only valuable because we as humans find the need to make them out to be something more than they are. diamonds are rocks.

whats wromg with that? the man has a point. either way, its the thought that counts.

I would love it if my boyfriend proposed to me. We have been going out for 3 years and have a child together, but he says he "does not want to have a cheap wedding". Stop whining, b*tch.

Jeez, you need a diamond to prove how much his love's worth? Chicks like you give our gender a bad name. So shallow, pfft.
