Ignore all these idiots, it can be difficult the first time to work out the mechanics - even if you ARE old enough, and even if you DO know how it's supposed to work. I know I had trouble the first time (I was 19 and I knew how sex worked and had watched ****, I wasn't stupid), and even now there are some positions that are just impossible for me and my husband to work out. The important part is to try again another day, try different positions, and it'll work in the end :) Good luck <3
