Today, it was my first day as an animal control officer. My first dispatch was to collect a dog that had been hit by a car. I had to clean up my dead dog on my first day of a job that barely pays rent. FML

Today, I started my community service at the dog pound. I like animals so I thought it would be a good place to do it. As I arrived they were throwing dogs that had been euthanized into a dump truck to be taken to a landfill. That was my job for the day. FML

Today, at my minimum wage job, we received a half-way decomposed dog found in a lake. It was my job to tear open the bag and try to identify the breed and color. It would've been easier if the body wasn't crawling with maggots. FML

Today, I started my first day of work at our local humane society. I asked where the break room was, so my coworker directed me to a small room in the back of the building. The only place I get to take my lunch break is the same room where they euthanize, freeze and cremate the animals. FML

Today, I adopted a dog from the local shelter. I put the dog in the car and he was shedding everywhere, but I was ok with that because he was my dog. As I pulled into the parking lot, the dog began to poop in the backseat of my car. When I got him out of the car, he ran off. $100 for him to poop and run away. FML

I'm torn between fyl and ydi because I'm not sure based on the info if you were one of those idiots who doesn't properly restrain your dog and it was your fault it was hit, or that the dog bolted and got hit in which case fyl. however I would love your job- I collect skulls and being able to pick up roadkill without people thinking I'm nuts would be awesome. ok well besides the people here who are now going to think I'm nuts. dammit.

I think the most important question is (wait for it.......wait for it) who let the dog(s) out ?!?! oh I kid. well I got to go folks. I am going to take my dog for a walk in the park. maybe a little fetch. I don't know the days young. its great having a dog to play with, right guys ? OP ? ah you know what I mean.
