Today, I went to the hospital with a broken hand. They gave me a cast and some prescription pain medication. The only problem is that the bottle of medication is child-proof, I live alone and I can't open it with one hand. FML

I think the best solution is hold the bottle between your thighs while sitting down and then twist the cap. Seems like it might work. Good luck!

Improvise for ***** sake. If you don't bother, it doesn't hurt enough to need them...

Put the bottle in between your knees and twist the top with your free hand ... Do not put cap back on afterwards

whoever said you can kill pain with one hand, what about the carb ;]

On most prescription bottles, one side is child lock and then you can flip it over and it's easy twist

Most pharmacies will put a different lid on it for you if you ask.

For goodness sakes. put the damn thing between your knees. hold it right with your knees and unscrew the damn thing. use your mouth too.

thats why you request it non-childproof from the pharmacy

This happened to me after I was hit by a car. My clavicle was broken on the left side and my whole right hand was torn up. My then boyfriend screwed the lid back on my pills before leaving for the day. I had to do some weird balancing act with a shelf, but where there's a will there's a way!

Maybe they can take the cap off for you and leave it off. Is that possible?
