Hey, OP here. It actually wasn't New Years, but it was a few days after. I finally heard from him after a week. He was hit by a car while crossing the street. Broken ribs, punctured lung and a fractured arm. He is doing much better, but is still recovering.

I was going to suggest the same thing. If you have not heard from him in 4 days prior, there could be something else going on. Hopefully not dead, but, maybe he is in the hospital or something?

I mean, it's a lot better than flying to see someone and then them never showing up. However, I don't think I'd have bothered to get someone from the airport if I hadn't heard from them the 4 days prior.

If you're waiting six months plus to meet up, he may have decided it's not worth you staying together, and this is his way of saying it's over. Kudos for sticking with it, though. Not many people can handle long distance relationships.

Well, I still think he or someone else would have been able to let you know, it really shouldn’t take 11 days(?) to just send a text or call? I doubt he’s been unconsious all that time...
