Today, I went to confession. I told the priest that I had an intimate relationship with a woman that I'm not married to. He chuckled and said, "You know, lying is a sin too." I wasn't lying. FML

i really really doubt that this is true a priest wouldn't say that and in most confessionals there's a screen so they can't even see you.

Why the hell does it make sense for a religion to basically say that it's ok to sin as long as you tell a priest you did it? And no, I'm not ignorant, I'm educated, and actually have a sense of self-control. Begone ReligiTrolls!

We don't say it's right, but we also understand that people make mistakes. It's not ok to sin, but by going to confession you admit your mistakes.

If churchgoer IS married, then the priest was probably on about lying to his wife. If he ain't, even god thinks you can't get a girlfriend. Feel sorry for ya hun. x
