Today, I went to a school football game alone. I sat next to these hot girls. To seem cool, I picked up my phone and had a fake conversation with the coolest guy in the grade. Halfway through, he came over and talked to the girls. FML

Today, I tried talking to the very quiet girl in my grade. We were having a conversation when a very hot guy walked into the cafeteria. I said to the girl, "The things I would do for him…" She looked at me dead in the eye and said, "That's my boyfriend." FML

Today, I decided to check out my school's quarterback's Twitter, since we have a class together. He wrote, "Dear girl in front of me, I thought you were pretty until you turned around." It was funny, until I realized the timestamp was when we have class together, and I sit in front of him. FML

Today, I was riding the bus home from school. I was sitting by myself, and my backpack was occupying the seat next to me. A hot girl boarded the bus, and was standing right where I was sitting. I placed my backpack on my lap, freeing up the seat. The girl stood the entire bus ride. FML

I don't understand what you expected their reaction to be OP. That they would suddenly have their hands all over you because you're talking to the coolest guy? The coolest guy had the right idea by going up to them and talking to them, maybe that's why he's the coolest guy!

Anybody else chuckle at "halfway through"? Did OP continue with his lame charade even after being busted? Bonus points for perseverance, I guess. I'll unnecessarily reiterate what everyone else has said: Trying to be cool is almost always pathetic and unconvincing. Coolness is entirely relative and overrated, anyhow; take that FML about the school reunion as proof.
