I got a hysterectomy when I was 23, it has greatly improved my quality of life. I don't have kids, and I can't say that I want them. If I change my mind I will adopt and/or foster them. Hopefully you will be able to come to peace with what might have to happen eventually. Get a second opinion though, it is a major operation.
Your doctor has the bedside manner of a cobra. If possible, get a second and/or third opinions on this to be certain. And, as a lot of others have said, if you can and when you're ready, adoption is great. Best of luck to you during this time, op.
Wow, that's some shitty bedside manner.
Man, I'm so sorry.. I have endometriosis so I can sympathize in most ways. I really hope everything turns out ok for you.
go see a different doctor
You can adopt! there are loads of kids who want and deserve a home! plus, no more periods!

Well there are two options: you may be able to harvest some eggs and save them for later for use in ivf, or you can adopt and give an existing kid a loving home. Either way, best of luck OP.
That sucks; I'd go get a second opinion if I were in your shoes.
