Today, I broke up with my boyfriend. I had only been dating him for about a month. Thinking he wouldn't take it very hard, I invited him over so I could tell him in person. Little did I know he was going to start crying on my couch and not leave for 5 hours. FML
Today, I had leg surgery. While I was recovering in the hospital, my boyfriend dumped me. I then had to ride home, a 2-hour drive, listening to my mother and aunt tell me he was the best thing to happen to me, and that I'll never find a better man. Then the morphine wore off. FML
Today, my boyfriend broke up with me, as he'd realised that life is really short, and he's got to enjoy with his friends. FML

I agree your life sucks, but maybe not for the reason that you do. If your ex-boyfriend did this after two years, then I feel awful for you that you either don't have a working asshole alert, or else that you have so little sense of self-worth that you think you need to put up with an asshole. The fact that he did something like this is just part of who he is, and you should have known before this happened.

Definitely ****** up, shouldn't have left for that. I'm truly sorry. My girlfriend of two years broke up with me a month ago to this day cause she wasn't happy anymore. Doesn't help her mom forbid us from dating cause she's 18 and I'm 22

Sounds like he just wanted out and this just happened to be the next exit ramp. In lofty defense of the boyfriend, I've dated people who without fail every single week have new, usually self inflicted, drama and are in constant need of placation and validation, and it's exhausting. Good on him for recognizing this wasn't a good match and calling it.
