Today, I was going to propose to my girlfriend on my boat at the lake. As we were looking at the mountains all around us, she playfully pushed me off the side into the water. As I got back on the boat, I realized that not only was my cellphone dead, but the ring had fallen into the deep water. FML

Today, my friend and I went boating. In the middle of the lake, we decided to jump in. We put our valuables in the boat and jumped in. When I tried to get back in the boat, it flipped over, and our cellphones, along with my car keys, are at the bottom of the lake. FML

Today, I was going to propose to my girlfriend. At the right moment, I got down on one knee. As I was reaching into my pocket to get the ring, she got so freaked out she kicked me in the face. I chipped a tooth and the ring flew off, and now I can't find it. FML

Today, I proposed to my girlfriend. When she saw the ring, she got so excited that she ran to kiss me and it flew out of my hand, over the balcony of our suite, and fell roughly 45 stories straight down. I could feel my wallet screaming as a £4000 diamond vanished into the night. FML

I don't know why most people wouldn't bring their cell phones on a boat. I bring mine on the boat with me all the time, but the only thing I'd say about the OP bringing it is maybe it would've been smarter to have put it in a plastic bag, instead of just in your pocket.

Umm... Why shouldnt he bring a phone on a boat, because if they are stuck out in the lake, with no phone, how are they gonna get back to land?? I always take my phone out, I just know how to take care of it :)

I'm so sorry! That must have been terrible.... I am sure if you told her she would be so happy, yet feel mad at the same time that she had to ruin the moment. Maybe its karma saying 'its not ment to be'. Perhaps rethink what is to come in your life and if you only see good with her then she is the one for you and dropping the ring in the water was just a rough bump along the way.
