Today, I started at a new school. It's a pretty great school, but there's only one problem: Everybody thinks I'm a teacher. I'm only a freshman. FML

At least you aren't a teacher getting mistaken for a freshman.

With some creativity, you can use that to your advantage. Like using the staff break room, for starters.

@OP It's actually deemed an insult given you're actually younger than the youngest age a teacher (I'm guessing you meant professor) might be. I have the opposite issue, freshman students in my high school courses presume I'm a new student only to find out that I'm their teacher. Just live and laugh, don't get bent out of shape you'll still score with the girls and given your aged look be asked to buy beer for the guys, lol

If that picture is you where do you teach, a retirement home?

Given the lack of an age by the OP of either the teachers or themselves, I'm curious how you jumped to this conclusion.

Why do you think she meant professor? I find very few high schools have "professors".

Isn't it weird that when you grow old you always want to be called younger? But when you're younger you want to be called older? So if OP is a freshman, he might not find it a "deeming insult"

Start using it to your advantage. Hall pass? Pfft nope. You're a teacher. ;)

that's not that bad. in middle school everyone thought I was a junior.

I'm a senior in high school right now, but a few times throughout high school I have been mistaken as a staff member. I tried correcting them, but as soon as I turn and walk away I hear them talking about how I must be a staff member. (I'm only 18) So don't worry about it, it happens sometimes. They will realize it sooner or later.

Man, that's gonna make for some awesome pranks you can play on your peers.

Hey, it may help getting to know some upperclassmen...

this is a catch me if you can moment... become the teacher

I would have fun with that... Apparel can give that impression at times jeans and a T-shirt and/or jacket can get rid of that confusion

It's always the opposite with me. People always think I'm about two/three years younger than I actually am... It's really annoying

babyface gang. I get asked several times a day if I'm old enough to be working or why I'm not in school right now. It's a bittersweet moment.
