Today, I saw my girlfriend at the store and joyfully greeted her. She got really mad at me - it was her identical twin sister, who I still cannot tell apart from my girlfriend. We've been dating for three years. FML

Today, it’s my girlfriend’s birthday. I took her out to her favorite restaurant to celebrate. The waitress serving us looked oddly familiar but I didn’t think anything of it until she said when we collected the check, “Aren’t you my sister’s husband?” I forgot she had a younger sister who worked here. FML

Today, I saw my girlfriend walking hand-in-hand down the street with another man. When I confronted her, she claimed she had no idea who I was, and the guy told me to beat it. Later on, she returned to our apartment and actually tried to act as if nothing had happened. FML

Take a look at which hand she is using to pick up items with. The vast majority of twins have one right-handed and one left-handed twin. Granted, it isn't true for all twins, but I think it is a significant percentage of the twin population. (Ugh, the only reliable reference I can find was published in the 1930s, when left-handedness was actively discouraged. But, even then, there was a significant larger percentage of twins being left-handed than the general population. Many sites about left-handedness claim this too, but list no references.)
