Today, as I was trying to impress my girlfriend of three months, I showed her the real diamond ring I'd got for my ex. She got an attitude for our whole three-hour car ride home because I'd brought up my ex. FML

Obviously, since you bought her a diamond ring, she meant a lot to you, and I do think it's fair for your ex's sake that she's aware of what you've experienced earlier and who's had important roles in your life.

I'm ngl I instantly click YDI on any FML that starts with "I was trying to impress" and only finish reading the rest after. Not once have I regretted doing it and this was no exception.
