Today, I received a mass email from my boss saying we had a position open at the daycare I work at. I knew my boyfriend was looking for a job so I insisted he apply. Later at work, my boss takes me into her office and tells me my employment is being "terminated". My boyfriend is replacing me. FML

Today, my boyfriend was fired. After breaking the news, he also broke up with me. Apparently, his boss had a creepy crush on me and would give my boyfriend bonuses for bringing me to company events and, occasionally, out on the boss's personal boat. Looks like I am no longer useful. FML

Today, my boss had to leave the house for a little while. She asked me to take any messages she got. I answered the phone and lady calling said she was returning her call about the opening for a nanny position. I'm the current nanny. I found out I'm being fired by the new nanny. FML

Today, my boyfriend proposed to me. My boss called me into her office and congratulated me, and spent almost half an hour asking me what our wedding plans were, where we might honeymoon, if we wanted kids, etc. She then followed this by suddenly remembering she had called me into the office to sack me. FML

Today, I was driving to work and I got a text from my girlfriend. She said she was breaking up with me. I was a little heartbroken, but I had to get on with my day. I got to work and my boss fired me. Turns out, my boss and girlfriend have been having an affair and she told him to fire me. FML

ok, just @ 12 (who said that they're keeping the job in the /family/) and 19 (who suggested that the OP had kids w/ her /bf/, she might have, but doubt it) - WHAT PART OF BF=/= HUSBAND DON'T U UNDERSTAND??!! And he's taking the job? Ha. He must feel like crap. You should totally rub it in. If he asks you to cook and clean like the others mentioned, just tell him you're too depressed because he stole your job. He'll feel so bad that he'll earn all the money AND do the housework. Your new job is to milk this for as long as possible. Oh, and get fat. You MUST get fat.
