Today, I really had to go to the bathroom. Due to my fear of public restrooms, I made sure it was clear before I started. I heard someone sigh halfway through. Embarrassed, I waited a full ten minutes before leaving the stall, only to see that it was only the automatic air freshener. FML

Today, my coworker friend told me she was going to the restroom. Soon after, I did the same. Once in the stall, I could smell a stench emanating from the next one. I yelled, "Ew, you stinky bitch" and sprayed air freshener under the partition. As I left the stall, my friend walked into the restroom. FML

Today, I had to use a public bathroom. I have problems going when other people are there, so I waited until everyone left. Two girls noticed I was taking a long time, and started giggling and throwing notes under the door asking if I was alive. This continued for half an hour. FML

I've seen the same thing before in Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Except, in that case, the air freshener was carrying a chainsaw and it was chopping everyone's heads off. OP, you were right to wait inside the stall. Air Fresheners are very dangerous.

Why would you have a fear of public washrooms? it's almost the same as a home washroom, just more people use a public washroom. If you were so scared, go to the washroom in a bush. Yeah, public washrooms are gross, but it's either that, wetting yourself, or risking infection due to waiting to go to the washroom for a period of time. Quite frankly, if it was a washroom with several stalls, studies have proven that the first stalls are the cleanest because everyone assumes it's the dirtiest so nobody goes in it. YDI. It's a public washroom and an air freshener... there are many more worse things than that in life.
