Today, on holiday with family, it is now abundantly clear to me that being the oldest teenager I was only brought along as free babysitter for 8 cousins, all under 10 years-old, while the adults lounge by the pool, buffet, or hotel bar. I’m exhausted. I want to go home. FML

Today, all I wanted was to take my two kids and their two favourite cousins to the beach on their last day of vacation together. My mother-in-law went into full beast mode, shouting about how I'm always roaming around and being irresponsible. The kids never meet and are from different cities. FML

Today, all three of my kids snuck out of a family reunion because they were bored. I was furious, until I found out my husband had also gone with them. After I was done yelling at all of them, I realised I was mostly jealous they didn’t take me with them. FML

Today, despite the fact that I'm really sick, my mom insisted that I come home and help babysit my cousins this weekend. When I got there, everyone else took off to do "errands," leaving me with three hyperactive, howler monkey-like children to deal with. FML

Today, I got a call from a girl I know, asking if I could babysit her little brother at my house tonight. I said yes. When the boy came over, he mentioned that his sister was having a party and didn't want him there. Turns out all my friends were invited except me. FML

Today, my parents asked me if I was sure I didn't want to join them on a family trip tomorrow with my sister. I was never invited, and unlike the rest of the family, I have a full-time job where I can't just take days off with no warning. This is how they announce most "family trips" to me. FML

I'm wondering if OP paid for their own way to go on this vacation or if their extended family did? Also wondering if Op is usually the regular babysitter? Either way, I guess it should of been explained to Op that they were expecting her/him to babysit the whole time...but if you paid your own way to go with them I wouldn't want to watch their kids the whole time either, but leaving the kids unattended would be idiotic. I hope you make the best of the situation and try to have fun anyways:)

I dunno, screaming kids might be worse than video games and doing whatever you want... I doubt they'd be studying seeing as its summer/ some people's only first day of school as of yesterday.

You still might have a great vacation. When I was younger my family used to do that to me too. However, they did make sure I had lots of fun on the day time events/ excursions. It was a win-win because I enjoyed being with my cousins. (:
