Today, all I wanted was to take my two kids and their two favourite cousins to the beach on their last day of vacation together. My mother-in-law went into full beast mode, shouting about how I'm always roaming around and being irresponsible. The kids never meet and are from different cities. FML

Today, all three of my kids snuck out of a family reunion because they were bored. I was furious, until I found out my husband had also gone with them. After I was done yelling at all of them, I realised I was mostly jealous they didn’t take me with them. FML

Today, despite the fact that I'm really sick, my mom insisted that I come home and help babysit my cousins this weekend. When I got there, everyone else took off to do "errands," leaving me with three hyperactive, howler monkey-like children to deal with. FML

Today, I got a call from a girl I know, asking if I could babysit her little brother at my house tonight. I said yes. When the boy came over, he mentioned that his sister was having a party and didn't want him there. Turns out all my friends were invited except me. FML

Today, my parents asked me if I was sure I didn't want to join them on a family trip tomorrow with my sister. I was never invited, and unlike the rest of the family, I have a full-time job where I can't just take days off with no warning. This is how they announce most "family trips" to me. FML

You have two options. You can take this as a learning experience, and be thankful for a free vacation. The other option is get the kids together and watch home alone all three of them. This gives the children ideas on how to boobytrap their entire house, then help them set up a few pranks for their parents. U will never be asked, or tricked into babysitting again.

I had to look after my cousins on beach trips all the time, from taking them to the pool or beach to not getting alcoholic smoothies at restaurants when I took them out for dinner. The older family members still make me sit at the kid's table at Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner, so I feel your pain.
