Today, I had to teach my grandma how to burn files to CDs. I jokingly said that it doesn't involve literally burning the disks in fire, to which she responded by slapping me and calling me a patronizing brat. FML

Thanks dude. Didn't see this until today.

How was this negative you said almost the same thing as the two before you.

That's exactly why; it's lacking originality.

I bet my grandma would do the same. Gotta show some respect.

Let her figure it out on her own then. Better luck next time, OP

I'd have walked away at that point. It's disgusting that people think they can get away with that type of behavior just because they're old.

She likely felt disrespected by the op's joke, and while the slap may have been a little overboard it probably wasn't very painful or entirely unwarranted.

Who are you to say it didn't hurt? I'd have felt like shit if my grandma slapped me over a joke I made.

Well then don't make her feel like shit and she won't make you feel like shit. Everyone's happy.

why does this have so many down votes? they're literally correct Grandma should not abuse her grandkids period. my mom did that she would never see me again.

Did you also remind her computer viruses aren't contagious?

They're contagious to other computers.

And since he lives to tell the tale, I'm guessing no, he didn't .

Litterally or not; advice duly noted, thank you.

It looks like you mistook your grandma for one of those sweet clueless old people and she let you know she's not
