#40 and 45 are completely right. Men can get erections for any number of reasons, not just being sexually aroused. Could be from something as bizarre as fear or anger. In this case..boredom! Or maybe the OP fell asleep? Guys also get erections when they're in the REM cycle of sleep. Either way, it's essentially about increased blood flow to the penis and can happen for any number of reasons. Totally not his fault. :) Sucks though. FYL. Especially because MRIs and all of those types of scans take forEVER.
