Today, I had to file for bankruptcy because my ex-wife didn't want to pay for the house she didn't want me to have in the divorce, and didn't bother to have my name removed from the loan before she filed bankruptcy herself. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, my wife said she wants a divorce. Three days ago, I added her onto the title to my house, my bank accounts, and my business. FML
Fight!
Today, I got a call from the county’s courthouse where I used to live saying I was being sued for fraud and expected in court to defend myself. Apparently, my ex took a loan out in my name and now I get to pay $2300 worth of legal fees and restitution to this loan company. FML
Today, I was on a 3-way call with my wife and the bank. The bank said we didn't qualify for school loans, which means I have to drop out. As soon as the bank hung up, my wife stayed on the line to tell me she wants a divorce and that she regrets our marriage. FML
Give me a second!
Today, my ex-wife's lawyer threatened to default on the divorce because I have not signed the divorce papers yet. Divorce papers that I have not been served yet. FML
Desperate
Today, my ex-wife announced that she's taking me to court for child support. Her kids were just my stepkids and we weren't even married a year, but she apparently has a pretty good lawyer on her side. FML
Hell hath no fury…
Today, I’m trying to recover financially from my divorce by quickly selling my house, but my ex-wife weed-killered the word "Bastard" into the front lawn, and the woman who had put in an offer to buy withdrew her offer. FML
Jailbird
Today, I had to bail my ex-husband out of jail. He didn't want his new wife to get mad at him. FML
Today, I had to sell my wedding ring to help me pay for my divorce. FML
Love costs a fortune
Today, I found out that my now ex-fiancé was still married to her ex throughout the entire relationship. What I didn't realize was that I ended up paying for the divorce, and 3 months later she got married to someone else. FML
Today, I had to dig into my savings to help my parents pay for their divorce. FML

isn't there anything you can do legally? bankruptcy really ruins your credit, she ought to be responsible for that

Yeah, she's a bitch... But it was definitely YOUR responsibility. You deserved it.

Don't blame your ex-wife for your incompetence in NOT having YOUR name removed from the mortgage!!!

Although I agree that you should have seen to that yourself, I do not think you deserve going bankrupt for it. I can see how one would forget about things like this when in the middle of a dramatic divorce.

^agree, but op should have taken responsibility on getting his name off the loan, specially after he couldn't keep the house. he can easily get back on his feet since his lawyer was another that was supposed to catch that.

My husband did the same thing to me. I couldn't get my name off the mortgage, though.

You got a divorce, she got the house, and YOU didn't make sure your name was off the loan? In cases like this, whoever gets the house has to remortgage the house in their name. YDI.
