@138, The word "gringa/gringo" is a slang word for American, people from the USA and it is not in a derogatory manner. The word is also used for people that have blond hair or blue eyes and may still be peruvians. Therefore the OP is most likely to be peruvian as she says that it is not common to find a seat at a bus in Peru. She should be a blonde peruvian (which, yes they exist in the capital city mainly) which attracted a man who should be standing up putting his crotch on her shoulder.
