Today, I woke up at 5:30 and made the half hour drive to work only to find out that it was my day off. After finally getting back home and into bed, my boss called, requesting that I come back to work since I was "already up". FML

Today, it was the first day of fall break from college, and I was really excited to sleep in and relax the entire weekend. Apparently my boss caught wind of my happiness and scheduled me 8am-2pm each day of break, "seeing how I don't have anything else to do." FML

Today, I wasn't sure if I would have to go to work. My mom told me the night before that she would wake me up if I had to. I woke up, and seeing that it was past the time I normally go to work, I happily assumed I got called off. That is, until I got a phone call from my boss asking me why I wasn't there yet. FML

Today, I was excited to finally take a day off work and relax at home. However, as soon as I was on the couch to Netflix and chill with my cat, I got a call from my boss saying I was needed at the office to fix a major issue. I ended up spending the entire day at work and didn't get to enjoy my "day off." FML

Today, I was enjoying my first vacation day in 2 years. My boss then called me to come in, saying it was an emergency. I got to work and got fired. Yes, my boss made me come in just to fire me. FML

Today, after having been off due to the holidays, I awoke to several missed calls and texts from my supervisor asking where I was. Fearing losing my job, I drove the entire 2-hour commute thinking I’d missed a day. I hadn't; he was just trying to get my weekly reports early. FML

Today, I worked 24 hours straight fixing my company's servers. After it was over, I breathed a huge sigh of relief and promptly fell asleep at my desk. My boss found me an hour later, refused to listen to me, and fired me for sleeping on the job. FML

Today, my boss told me that my attitude to work is awesome and that he'd follow my example of coming in half-an-hour early every day from now on. I relish those 30 minutes as the only time I can get work done without him constantly interrupting me. So much for that. FML

I dont see a problem with that. Obviously it wasnt your bosses fault anyways, it was yours for not turning off the phone, someone was bound to call you and wake you up eventually. Think of it this way, he could be calling to tell you they needed you to come into work.

I think you must have pissed off your boss somehow. It's awfully rude to call someone at 6:30 am on their day off. Or the boss is very immature and did it as a 'joke'. If it was a joke; OP ought to get the boss' home # and call him at 3 am to remind him he's gotta get up in 2 hrs for work. And call him at 6 on his days off... Either way, the OP NEEDS to let the boss know it pissed him off (in a politically correct way). This IS a FML. Some of you NEED to read the FML FAQ to learn what is SUPPOSE to be posted as FMLs.

If the boss wanted to truely be considerate he/she should have called the OP the night before or just sent the OP a text message reminding him that this is their day off and not to come in to work.
